Welcome to Primary 6bs’ class page. This term we will be learning about Earth and Space, data handling, relationships, story telling and lots of other things. We will continue with French and Spanish too. We will also be preparing for our p6 camp and our class assembly.
Please remember that we have P.E. every Monday and Tuesday. Homework will go home on Tuesdays to be handed in on Mondays. Please feel free to send a water bottle in with your child.
Please feel free to get in touch with Miss Bishop if you have any questions. We hope you enjoy looking at our work.
To follow our class blog, please click on P6b in the Category section on the right hand side.
This term we will be looking at ‘Keeping Myself Safe’, including drug and alcohol awareness. We will also be learning about local and national elections during Democracy Week, and we will be conducting our own elections for class reps for next year’s committees.
In Reading we will be continuing to use Literature Circles to consolidate comprehension skills. We will be continuing with class talks, encouraging the children to speak clearly and to engage with their audience. We will also be emphasising the importance of listening respectfully and formulating relevant questions. In Writing, we will continue to formulate and work on our personal targets and use these to evaluate our work.
In Maths we will be continuing with number work and consolidating our times tables. We will also be learning about Time and Money.
Our P.E. days are Monday and Tuesday, and we have Music on a Wednesday.
Reading homework is given out weekly. Pupils should bring their reading bag, containing their book and their reading record jotter, to school every day.
Written homework is given out on a Tuesday, to be returned the following Monday. This will normally include spelling tasks and grid tasks. Each piece of work should be dated and signed by a parent/carer.
