# Welcome to Primary 4a!

We are looking forward to a very busy term. We have many exciting activities coming up:

• We will be reading ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and completing many challenging but also fun activities related to the book.  We will be learning about the characters, settings and the adventures that take place.
• We will be creating lots of art as well as inventing our own sweets and the          machines to make them.
• We will be learning how to be good storytellers, using story maps  and  story      sticks to help us.
• We will be attending swimming lessons, doing our daily mile challenge and     being coached in rugby.
• We will also be doing outdoor learning for some of our activities.

Enjoy looking at our photographs and reading our blogs.

We enjoy choosing a selection of books to read.

We love learning how to play rugby with Ross the rugby coach. Even in the rain!

We have been outside learning about 2D and 3D shapes in the environment.

In maths this week I learnt about 2D and 3D shapes. I was able to find 2D and 3D shapes outside. I need to get better at counting vertices and edges. In writing I learnt about joining my letters and I need to get better at doing this. *Swimming   *Shape booklets

Trickier maths

# P7b Learning Log – 25/8/17

This week in P.E I learned how to throw and catch a shuttlecock, I was practising my accuracy. I also learned about how to be ready to move to receive the ball and serve it back to a partner.

I also learned about different types of angles in maths. The different types of angles are acute, right, obtuse and reflex!

My favourite part of this week was practising badminton in P.E!

# P6a Learning Log, 25th August 2017

In P6 we have been learning –
PE – people are getting better at serving and rallying in badminton. People are being more careful and more accurate with their shots.
Reading – our class novel ‘Wonder’ by R.J. Palacio is really good. It is very detailed and you can picture the story and characters in your head. It is a bit of a sad book. We were able to write August’s diary by imagining we were him.
Handwriting – people are getting the join better than last year and are writing neatly.
Big Writing – Kung Fu punctuation refreshes your brain. We had to carry on a story about ‘The Beast’ and use VCOP in our writing.
Maths – we have been revising skills in multiplication and division. We were pleased do revise division. We also worked on missing addends and ENLs.

What could be better?
More time on art and more art work.

Pupil Choice/Evaluation

Pop Art – we made designs using Pop Art to display WOW words. We watched a video from the Tate.
PE – as above.

We would like challenges in maths this year.
